We reviewed Olley’s Fish and Chips in one of our takeaway competitions – see here. Despite being the most expensive – it won hands down. They deal with several delivery organisations. We ordered through Uber Eats and delivery was prompt, with full respect for social distancing rules.
There is a longish menu of fish (Cod, Haddock, Sea Trout, Hake, Scampi etc) and they also provide gluten free options. We had cod and chips and haddock and chips, both with a portion of mushy peas. We ordered a small appetite size, as our previous portions were huge.
We were worried that they would not live up to our previous gold rating – but they did. Good batter, crisp not soggy and the fish was not overcooked. For any appetite I think the number of chips was enough. I had some left over. Mushy peas do not look good, but they really are one of your five a day; and tomato ketchup added another vegetable.
So for a treat, order fish and chips from Olleys. Our bill came to £24.89 including delivery and a tip.
